Prepare you for future opportunities

With countries around the world in lock-down mode on account of the epidemic, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) has taken student recruitment activities to cyberspace for a “first-of-a-kind” event.

The recruitment activity was initiated based on an invitation from Ming Chuan University and held on May 1st for the Taiwan Education Center in Mongolia and a group of Mongolian teachers and students.

The video call was hosted by Chief of Education, Chun-Yi Lee, and Chief Cooperation, Ching-Huan Lin, of the NPUST Office of International Affairs (OIA). The two provided an English introduction to the university’s vision for development, the special features of the departments, and scholarship opportunities. To give the students and teachers from Mongolia with a solid understanding of university’s qualities, they arranged for Oyu-erdene Oyungerel, an NPUST graduate student from Mongolia, to provide real-time Mongolian interpretation. She was also asked to share on her own experiences living in Taiwan and studying at the university.

Through the online publicity activity, staff members from the Office of International Affairs conducted video call Q&A so that the students from Mongolia to get some information on specific items of interest, such as what kind of English instructed courses NPUST offers, what level of English proficiency will be needed, what type of scholarship packages are available, and what is the dormitory environment like. The video call lasted for about an hour, with a very cooperative internet connection that allowed for good quality video and audio through the duration.
